Early learning to drive from: 15 years old

It is possible to learn to drive early from the age of 15 in accompanied driving. The training has 3 stages that should be followed.

How does early learning to drive take place?

The training includes three stages: initial training in a driving school, driving accompanied by an adult with pedagogical follow-up by the driving school, presentation of the driving license

Initial training

The student signs a training contract after having carried out a prior knowledge assessment. This training cannot be less than 20 hours. At the end of this training, the pupil must pass the general theoretical test of the driving license examination (the code) and then receive the certificate of end of initial training.

Accompanied driving

Up to the age of 18, to gain experience behind the wheel, the pupil must follow an accompanied driving course which lasts between 1 and 3 years. He must have driven 3,000 km minimum accompanied. The speed is limited: - to 110 km / h on sections of motorways where the speed is limited to 130 km / h, - to 100 km / h on other sections of motorways and roads with two carriageways separated by a central reservation - at 80 km / h on other roads, - at 50 km / h in built-up areas. Traffic is prohibited in foreign territory.

Training follow-up

3 educational meetings are compulsory: - the first with the guide and the monitor lasting at least 2 hours, - the second, after 6 or 8 months of accompanied driving and around 1000 km traveled, - the third, when the student has traveled at least 3,000 km. At the end of his training, the candidate must take the practical tests including a 20-minute course in circulation. The results of the evaluations carried out are transcribed in a learning booklet which is given to him by the driving school. When the candidate obtains the driving license, the driving school issues him a certificate of end of accompanied driving. This certificate must be given to the insurer in order to obtain discounts on the additional young driver premium.
